APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Eligible Applicants:

  • 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in good standing
  • Organizations serving Aurora residents

Eligible Activities:

Eligible activities must benefit City of Aurora residents and address one of the City of Aurora’s Objectives associated with Public Services. A list is provided on page #3 of the application. 

Documenting Beneficiaries:  

Your project must serve Aurora residents, and you must be able to document and maintain files accordingly. 

Review Process:

Applicants must completely answer all questions in the application and include all requested information in order to be considered for funding.  If you are requesting funds for multiple programs or projects, you must complete a separate application for each unique request.

Evaluation Criteria:

1.  Address a Public Services Objective

2.  Demonstrate impact 

3.  Capacity and experience of the organization

  • Experience including the length of time in operation
  • Experience in undertaking projects of similar complexity 
  • Organizational resources available and ready to manage the proposed project
  • Operational resources available and ready to sustain project
  • Past performance in managing grant funding 

4.  Leveraged resources

5.  Level of resources leveraged

6.  Grant may only address 50% of costs

7.  Project Readiness

8.  Resources needed to implement the proposed project are available and ready

Grant Cycle*:
•  October 2021 - Applications issued
•  November 2021 - Quality of Life Committee review
•  December 2021 - Recommendations reviewed by City Council
•  December 2021 - Incorporated into City budget process
•  December 2021 - Applicants notified of funding recommendations
•  January 2022 - Grant agreements executed
•  January 31, 2022 - Funds available (contingent up on satisfactory final reports for previous year)
•  April 15, July 15, October 15 - Quarterly reports due
•  January 15, 2023 - Final reports due

*The grant timeline is subject to change.  Applicants will be notified of any changes to the review and award timeline.
